My deep love for wild spaces and time spent working on trail maintenance crews is the bedrock for my work as an artist where I explore the relationships humans have with the environment. I am fascinated by the lines, textures, formations and moments that have shaped this earth and am interested in the interconnectedness of trails and waterways alongside the idea of mapping wild spaces through experience.

Anna Orbovich is a Minneapolis based artist working in drawing, printmaking and sculpture.

As an avid outdoors-person Orbovich’s time working and conducting research in the geothermal areas of Iceland, salt flats of Death Valley, burned regions of the High Desert, abandoned coal mining settlements just south of the North Pole and Arctic waterways have vastly influenced the direction of her work.

In May 2019, she received her MFA with an emphasis in drawing, printmaking and foundry from the University of Minnesota. Orbovich earned her BFA in printmaking and book arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012.
