Love and respect for nature inspires much of my art. Many of my images are landscapes derived from sketches and observations of nature, but are not intended to be a literal representation of a specific time or place. Rather, the intent is to represent a universal embodiment of the spirit of nature. The original sketches and observations are altered and refined in the studio where the elements of composition, form, color and light are the focus.
I also create abstract images that explore the qualities of the watercolor medium without reference to representational imagery.
I also use my drawings and photos to create digital images such as mandalas on the computer. The digital computer images allow me to develop images that can expand upon layers of awareness.

In addition to being a member of NEMAA, I am also a signature member of the Minnesota Watercolor Society, Minnesota Artists Association and the White Bear Center for the Arts. I have received numerous awards from juried competitions.
