Eileen Cohen is a Minneapolis-based ceramic artist and educator. She works as an Arts Educator and Exhibitions Coordinator at Silverwood Park, part of the Three Rivers Park District, and teaches clay classes to students of all ages and skills in her studio and at the Northern Clay Center. She creates ceramic sculpture and large-scale wall installations using multiples to explore movement, flow, and density. Her work is found in private collections and exhibited locally and nationally. She holds an MFA in Ceramics from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.

Eileen Cohen is open on Friday, Saturday & Sunday of Art-A-Whirl weekend.
Visitors are welcome in the studio during Art-A-Whirl and at other times by appointment. I am hosting a hand’s on art activity at specific times throughout the weekend. Feel free to stop!
Transformation in Clay: Make a Butterfly
Participants are offered a free, hands-on clay experience during the designated times listed below. Instruction will be provided through demonstrations by the artist as well as step by step written directions. Participants will use clay to make a small project in the shape of a butterfly using pinch and coil techniques to create the body, wings, and other details. After constructing the butterfly, they will decorate it using ceramic paints. Each project will be glazed fired and available for pick up at a later date. Information will be provided about pick up during the activity.
First come, first-served. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to the end of the activity to participate.
Friday, May 19: 6 – 8 pm
Saturday, May 20: noon – 2 pm and 4 – 6 pm
Sunday, May 21: 2 – 4 pm
