My art is a combination of basic woodcut printmaking and layers of oil paint with glazing medium. Each piece is hand pulled from my carvings and painted to create a one of a kind special work on paper. I then use these original forms of art to create framed wall art and lamps. I create small limited editions with each carving and then sell the original carving when finished. This is a great way for me to let go of the old to make room for new design ideas. Carving the block is one of my favorite parts to my process. I started my small business Ink Orchard during the summer of 2006. I wanted to create original fine art that was affordable and easy to purchase through setting up at farmers markets and art fairs. Printmaking was a way for me to keep up with a flush inventory of art along with an accessible price tag.  I hope you Enjoy and will visit me in my NE Mpls studio at Casket Arts. I also work and live in an old one room schoolhouse in Stockholm, Wi. The imagery I am most drawn to in my work is from my immediate surroundings and emotional status. I let me eye pick what it wants to explore and them my current mood and emotions dictate the ultimate outcome of each design. Color is the final emotional element and hand painting each piece is a form of meditation and calm for me.
