Kids need a break? Need some A/C? Artists of all ages are invited to create a cardboard community!

Grace Lutheran Church is hosting our annual found item art-making event. Our imaginations could not be boxed in, so the Shoebox City has expanded to become the Cardboard Community!

Children of all ages are invited to let their imaginations run wild . We have lots of cardboard, art supplies, and a whole variety of thingamabobs to use—and adults to help with hot glue and x-acto knives.

If you’re more in the mood to color, we’ll also decorate bags for Little Kitchen Food Shelf. Brighten a neighbor’s day with a work of art when they receive groceries!

Join us for an exhilarating exploration of art, athleticism, and empowerment at Esprit de Corps: Women Artists In Twin Cities Skateboarding.

In this curator-moderated panel discussion, we drop in on the vibrant worlds of women who are skilled skateboarders and also talented artists. Our panelists will share insights into their unique artistic processes, discussing the inspiration behind their creations and the impact of skateboarding on their personal and artistic journeys. From the streets to the canvas, these women will illuminate the ways in which skateboarding serves as both muse and medium in their lives.

In addition to thought-provoking discussions, Esprit de Corps offers a unique opportunity for women and girls in Twin Cities skateboarding to connect, and collaborate. Whether you’re a seasoned skateboarder, an aspiring artist, or simply passionate about fostering inclusivity and empowerment, this event promises a morning of inspiration, camaraderie, and celebration.

Come join us as we honor the spirit and creativity of women artists in Twin Cities skateboarding.

This exhibition is on view from May 1-31 during regular business hours.

Learn the origin of the weaving project, Ojo de Dios.

Discuss ideas of color theory and how it creates representation of expression within the Ojo de Dios.

Think about affirmations and positive growth words, then write it down on two sticks. Choose specific colors to represent your feelings toward your words. While wrapping in meaningful colors, you are also wrapping positive thoughts toward their affirmations.
